I noticed that all mentions of 4chan have been removed form the con description (for the best IMHO). Why is it still on the animated graphic?

This is especially interesting as when asked about their inclusion of sites like 4chan and Reddit, Megg and Cain (the admins for Emoti-Con, and previous admins for Dashcon) justified their inclusion in an interview with TheDailyDot as Which is unfortunate considering the valid point the interview makes (quoted below) - that sites like 4chan and Reddit are known for sending threats of sexual assault, violence and murder against people (especially women) who they don't like. It's vaguely reassuring to see that Emoti-Con has made the decision to delete references to 4chan (but still keep them in the animated graphic), but how does that fit in with their belief that "life brings users of multiple websites together"? Does Emoti-Con have a presence on Reddit? Has Reddit expressed any sort of interest in a convention like this? How can Emoti-Con claim to be an internet-based convention (which is phenomenally broad, in and of itself) when it is deleting references to entire social media platforms on the basis of safety?

Clearly they can't afford the $17,000 it would take to pay an artist to re do the animated gif.

Gotta love all the dishonesty in the air. Way to go, Dashcon Emoti-con. Capped. <3

They probably realized that 4chan probably wants nothing to do with this convention and would probably just poke fun at it.
